Yoshi decides that after all the recipe programs he's used, Pepperplate might very well be the one and only "app" he'll ever need for recipes, planning, and cooking.

I’ve had the pleasure (and dis-pleasure) of using a variety of recipe programs. I loved most of them, and while one of my favorites still continues to be MacGourmet, I have to admit that Pepperplate has really caught my eye.

Why do I love Pepperplate? Well the first thing to come to mind is that I can use it on my iPhone, my Android tablet, and my computer. If I had a functional Android phone, of course it’s also available there.

The second thing that might come to mind is the awesome import ability. When you use this “app” on the web, you can import a lot of recipes into it from most popular recipe sites such as FoodNetwork.com, AllRecipes.com, and so on. You can even put a bookmarklet into your browser to “Add to Pepperplate” to make it even easier to import into it.

What more could there be, right? Is there a third thing? Of course there is. You can do meal planning as well! You can plan special meals, dinners, routine meals, and then put them into action with the planner.

BTW, these are all functions that are on the website only at this time. On the Android and iOS devices, you are a little limited in functionality. But it gives you enough functionality to make it useful.

But wait, there’s more! You can also set up shopping lists just in case you want to go to the store to buy what’s needed! This is where the mobile devices come in really handy. Let’s not forget that on the tablet, this is an easy way to display the recipe while in the kitchen. (In the event you don’t have a laptop to bring into your kitchen.)

All in all, I think Pepperplate may be my newest craze in the app world. I think I won’t even give this app a score. I would label this app an “I can’t live without it” app.

Both are formidable chefs. You might even remember Chef Anne cooking with Mario Batali in Iron Chef America. Chef Anne is definitely not a stranger to competition. In Season One, Chef Anne beat out Chef Beau MacMillan. So Chef Anne comes back as reigning champion.

At first, throughout the season, it was a pretty close battle, but it seemed Robert Irvine had the edge with his recruits. But they were both evenly matched in my opinion. When it came down to the final four, I was sorely upset at Anne Burrell for not cutting Joshie. Joshie seemed so annoying to me. Robert Irvine’s choice of George was an obvious choice to me in my opinion. She was definitely the better cook and I believed the best to represent Robert Irvine. Anne choosing Joshie was really upsetting, did I mention that? I really thought Carlos would have been the better person represent her.

Of course, in the end, I would eat my words.

Joshie won the overall competition, making Anne Burrell the winner between the two chefs. Of course, it was kinda sad that Anne Burrell won too, because I really would have liked to see what Anne looked like without the spiky hair. That would have been something else.
